Albert Bellas

Albert Bellas is an Investor/Partner of the Company and is Chairman and CEO of Solaris Group, LLC (www.solarisgroupllc.com). He is the former Chairman of the Board of Neuberger Berman Trust Company (www.nb.com), a money management firm with $58 billion under management, and a former Managing Director of Neuberger Berman, LLC. Mr. Bellas was responsible for the oversight of the domestic and offshore Trust Company’s fiduciary and investment management services offered to a broad array of high net worth individuals and family groups as well as domestic and offshore profit and non-profit institutions.

Before joining Neuberger Berman Trust Company, Mr. Bellas was a Managing Director and member of the Management Committee of OFFITBANK, a New York State trust bank from 1992 to 2000. Prior to OFFITBANK, Mr. Bellas spent 13 years with Shearson Lehman Brothers Inc., where he was a Senior Executive Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors of Lehman Brothers. From 1982 to 1990, Albert was the Director of the Public Finance Division and Chairman of its operating committee. From 1979 to 1982, he had administrative responsibility for the Investment Banking Division including the Corporate, Public and International Finance Departments. As part of his responsibilities he was Chairman and a member of various firm-wide commitment committees’ responsibilities for approving all investment banking transactions and private partnership investments. Prior to joining Shearson Lehman Brothers Inc., Mr. Bellas was a General Partner at Loeb Rhoades & Co. from 1976 to 1979, and a Vice President at Goldman, Sachs & Co. from 1973 to 1976. He began his career as an Associate at Dillon Read & Co. Inc. from 1968 to 1972.

Mr. Bellas graduated with a BA from Yale University in 1964, received a JD from the University of Chicago Law School in 1967 and an MBA from the Columbia Graduate School of Business in 1968, where he was elected a McKinsey Scholar. In 1963, Mr. Bellas was appointed a White House Intern in the Kennedy administration and worked on the U.S. balance of payment position. Mr. Bellas’ outside affiliations include serving as a Director of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc., a Director, Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Lincoln Center Constituent Development Project, Inc., Chairman of the Board of the School of American Ballet, a Director and Treasurer of the Guild Hall of East Hampton, a member of the Board of Regents and Chairman of the Finance Committee of The Mercersburg Academy, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Century Association and Trustee of the St. Mary’s Foundation for Children. Mr. Bellas also serves on several other non-profit investment committees.
