Steven Meltzer

Steven Meltzer is an Investor/Partner of the Company and is a prominent Washington, D. C. attorney and a Senior Partner in the Law Firm of Pillsbury Law (www.pillsbury.com). Mr. Meltzer represents numerous private and publicly held businesses in a wide range of transactions including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, divestitures, joint ventures, international and domestic licensing and distribution agreements, venture capital financings, public and private securities offerings, "going private" transactions, and financial restructurings. He counsels companies and investors in capital formation, governance, securities compliance, employment and compensation matters, and shareholder issues. He is a former member of Pillsbury’s Managing Board.

Mr. Meltzer focuses his activities on technology-related projects. He chairs the Board of Trustees of the New England Institute of Technology, and serves as a director or advisory board member of several companies. Mr. Meltzer serves as Secretary, a member of the executive committee and legal counsel of the Technology Council of Maryland, is a member of the MdBio board and is a founder and legal counsel of the Maryland Angels Council. From 2004 to 2007, Mr. Meltzer served as a member of the Board of Visitors of the College of Life Sciences of the University of Maryland. Mr. Meltzer also has served as a judge for the Washington Area Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. He is a frequent speaker in the U.S. and in other countries on capital structuring, transactional, information technology and biotechnology topics. Mr. Meltzer also has authored several articles on technology and capital formation, and has served as a member of the Standing Committee on Globalization of the Legal Profession of the International Bar Association.

Mr. Meltzer has been ranked by Chambers USA as one of America's Leading Corporate/M&A Lawyers in Northern Virginia.
