Pedro Buttazzoni
Pedro Buttazzoni is an Investor/Partner of the Company and a highly respected and influential Chilean businessman, financier, real estate developer and investor. He is on the Boards of several important companies and financial institutions in Chile and Latin America. Mr. Buttazzoni was one of the developers of the one million sq. ft. World Trade Center in Santiago, Chile which is the largest office building in Santiago. More recently he was involved in the development of the $100 million Marriott Hotel and Business Center in Santiago. Mr. Buttazzoni is on the Board of Directors of Aguas Andinas S.A. (Group Suez-Agbar-Corfo) a water purification company with sales of over $180 million and on the Board of Directors of Chilectra S.A. (Endesa, Spanish Group) with sales of over $400 million in Chile.
He has participated as an investor and Board Member of Minmetal S.A., an engineering and construction company with sales of $400 million and is currently an investor and Board Member of Boytec S.A., a mining drilling exploration firm, which also manufacturers tools for the mining industry with sales in the $100 million range and Labrador S.A., an agricultural business, principally involved in fruits and vineyards. Mr. Buttazzoni was President of Codelco Corporation based in London with sales of more than $2.5 billion from 1968 through 1971.
He is very active in political and community affairs and sits on many Boards and Commissions and is an advisor to the current Chilean Government. He was a Counselor of The Cultural Corporation of Santiago from 1995-1999; a Counselor of The Metropolitan Regional Council of Santiago from 1992-1996; a Vice President of the Christian Democratic Party from 1990-92 and was Under Secretary of Economics in the Frei Montalva government from 1966-1968, one of the youngest Cabinet Level appointees in Chile.
Mr. Buttazzoni has a Masters Degree in economics from Williams College in the United States and a Law Degree from the University of Chile in Santiago, Chile. He speaks fluent Spanish, English and Italian.
