Richard W. Dickinson

Richard W. Dickinson - Founder and Chairman of BenchMark Advisors (BenchmarkAdvisors.com). Mr. Dickinson established BenchMark Advisors in 1995 putting to use a broad background in management and marketing and years of experience and education in the general practice of landscape planning, administration and management.

Through BenchMark Advisors, Mr. Dickinson gradually began specializing in creative conservation strategies including Limited Development which utilizes easements and other conservation tools to encourage the protection of significant open space. Now enjoys working closely with landowners, developers and consultants to incorporate an environmentally sensitive approach to a wide variety of development and design applications.

Prior to embarking on establishing BenchMark Advisors, Mr. Dickinson worked for 23 years as a Managing Principal with Edward D. Stone Jr. and Associates (EDSA), an internationally known firm of planners and landscape architects. Dick graduated with a Bachelor’s in Landscape Architecture from the College of Environmental Science & Forestry at Syracuse University.

He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and serves as Vice Chairman on the Recreational Development Council.
