Alex Krys
Mr. Krys is an Investor / Partner and currently a Managing Member of Juniper Capital Partners, LLC. Juniper is an activist investor with a predisposition to investing in distressed or out of favor assets with attractive valuations. The investments typically require substantial repositioning and Juniper often takes an active role in one or more capacities as a manager, board member or advisor. Mr. Krys is active in all of Juniper’s investments but most recently through an advisory agreement with Juniper, Mr. Krys served as the President and COO of Turnberry Associates. Turnberry is a Florida based developer, owner and manager of assets in the commercial, retail, residential and hospitality sector. Mr. Krys re-structured an over 4 billion dollar portfolio for Turnberry Associates. Mr. Krys also led the investment and re-structure of the Gencom assets that included the equity investment in Ritz Carlton hotels in Florida, Pennsylvania, Colorado, California and Hawaii. Additionally, he was a senior advisor for GenSpring Family Offices, a $20 billion multi-family office company.
Mr. Krys served as the President of Diageo Spain spearheading one of Diageo's four Major Markets Worldwide. Prior to his move to Diageo Spain, Mr. Krys was President of Diageo's Venture Markets Americas & Caribbean, managing the company's growth and expansion throughout 36 markets encompassing the Caribbean, Central America and the South America region. During his tenure Mr. Krys tripled profits in the region and achieved double-digit growth for five consecutive years. Mr. Krys is credited for establishing clear leadership for Diageo's main brands including Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Baileys, J&B, Smirnoff, Tanqueray and Diageo's Wine Portfolio among others. Mr. Krys is also credited for managing the merger of GrandMet, PLC (IDV) and Guinness, PLC (UD) in the region, which formed DIAGEO, PLC, and included United Distillers & Vintners, Guinness Brewing, Pillsbury and Burger King. Mr. Krys was responsible for merging the Guinness beer business with the spirits business. Mr. Krys served as member of the Executive Committees for Venture Markets Worldwide as well as the Brand Executive Board for Guinness Worldwide. He joined United Distillers, in 1996 and held several key management positions for the Latin America region, including Marketing Director and External Affairs Director.
Before joining DIAGEO, Mr. Krys was a top executive in the Advertising and Public Relations industry, serving as the Chief Executive Officer for Ketchum Asociados and as partner at Daniels & Roberts, where his agencies managed an impressive roster of clients such as Microsoft Latin America, Acer Computers, Polaroid Latin America, Sony Consumer Products Latin America, American Express, FedEx, Miller Brewing, Reebok, MCI and Univision Television Network. Mr. Krys was responsible for launching PR Newswire in Latin America and developed a joint venture with Reuters Newswire to deliver corporate news to Latin America media.
